Agrilinks Activity Page comprising general resources and a series of global and country analyses looking at both impacts of the Ukraine war and global crises on food security, poverty, and food systems, as well as at policy options. The rise in global food, fuel, and fertilizer prices has been driven in large part by the fallout from the ongoing war in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed on Russia, although other factors, such as export bans, have also contributed to rising prices. For example, palm oil and wheat prices increased by 56 and 100% in real terms, respectively, between Jun 2021-Apr 2022. The price of crude oil and natural gas has also risen substantially, and the weighted average price of fertilizer has doubled. With these changes in global prices, many developing countries and their development partners are concerned about the implications for economic stability, food security, and poverty. The general resources include the Agrilinks Crisis in Focus landing page, the IFPRI food and fertilizer export restrictions tracker, a USAID-IFPRI event recording, an IFPRI policy seminar series page, and an IFPRI food prices page. The country analyses highlight completed analyses for 19 countries presented through briefs and slides. The IFPRI food prices page includes, among others, the same country briefs and slides, and additionally the global analyses.
