Article on a study from the Standing Together for Nutrition Consortium and the International Food Policy Research Institute, indicating that the global food crisis is likely to dramatically increase the number of children suffering from wasting unless we act now. Researchers examined food prices and health data over the past twenty years to understand the impacts of food crises on the status of childhood nutrition. They found that on average, a 5% increase in the real price of food, increases the risk of child wasting by 9%.
